Shizuoka Festival
静岡祭り

皆さんこんにちはー！イブです。

Did you go to the Shizuoka festival? Did you see the horses?
静岡祭りへいらっしゃいましたか。お馬さんをご覧になりましたか。

Did you see ME??
私を見ましたか？！

Hee hee! I was in the festival!
フフフ！私は祭りに出ました！

Twice a week I go to Shizuoka Riding Club in north Shizuoka. They asked me if I’d like to help lead the horses in the festival.
私は北静岡の静岡乗馬クラブに週に２回行っています。会員さん達に静岡祭りで馬を引いてみないかと誘われました。

I led a horse called Jiro, who Yūka was riding. While we were walking, I was teaching Yūka some riding vocabulary in English, and she was teaching me in Japanese!
ジロウという馬さんを引きました。ゆうかちゃんが乗りました。歩いていた間、私はゆうかちゃんに馬に関係する単語を色々教えました。ゆうかちゃんも私に日本語で教えてくれました❤

We started in Sunpu Park then walked down Miyuki-dori, back up Gofuku-cho, down Miyuki-dori again, then finished at Shizuoka citizen Cultural Center.
駿府公園から御幸通りを歩いて呉服町に戻り、また御幸通りを歩いて、静岡市民文化会館で終わりました。

There were lots of double takes. I think many people were surprised to see a British woman in a Japanese festival.
二度見が多かったですよ（笑）日本のお祭りにイギリス人が参加しているのを見て、びっくりした人が多かったんだと思います。

We had carrots for the horses hidden in our sleeves!
振袖でお馬さんのためのにんじんを隠しました。

It was fun to talk to the other Riding Club members and get to know them.
乗馬クラブの会員さん達といろんな話をして知り合てとてもうれしかったです❤

I’m happy I could experience something I wouldn’t have been able to experience in the U.K. I hope our Hop Step Jump students can have these experiences abroad too!
イギリスではできないことを経験できて幸せだなって思います。
ホップステップジャンプの生徒さん達も、将来は海外で経験してほしいな！
