みなさん、こんにちは。Jくんです。
How was your winter vacation?
冬休みはどうだったかな？
This winter my parents came from the U.K to Japan.
They came to Japan by plane.
It took 12 hours so they were very tired.
今年の冬は、イギリスから僕の両親が来てくれたんだ。
飛行機でね。
12時間かかったみたいで、とても疲れたみたい。
Soon after they arrived it was Christmas
I made Christmas dinner with my mum.
Traditionally, for Christmas, we eat turkey, but I couldn’t find it in Japan.
We made roast beef, ham, chicken and lots of vegetables.
両親が来てすぐにクリスマスだったんだけど、お母さんといっしょにクリスマスディナーを作ったよ。クリスマスでは七面鳥を食べるのが伝統なんだけど、日本では見つけられなくて。だからローストビーフやハム、チキンとたくさん野菜を食べたよ。
For dessert we ate some traditional Christmas desserts from the UK.
We ate Christmas pudding, mince pies and ice cream.
Everything was delicious!
デザートには、イギリスの伝統的なクリスマスデザートも。
クリスマスプリン、ドライフルーツ入りのパイ、アイスクリームとか！
After Christmas, we went to Tokyo.
We visited Tokyo Sky tree.
Have you ever been there?
クリスマスのあとは、東京にも行ったよ。
スカイツリーを見に行ったんだ。行ったことある？
It was the tallest tower my parents have ever seen.
They were very nervous when I told them we were going up to the top.
僕の両親にとって、こんな高いタワーは初めてだったみたい。
だからスカイツリーの頂上まで行くよって伝えたら緊張してた！
The view was amazing from Tokyo Sky tree.
There was a clear blue sky, and we could see Mount Fuji.
スカイツリーからの眺めは最高だったよ！
快晴だったから、富士山も見られた。
My mum said that the buildings below looked like Lego, and the people looked like ants.
お母さんは「下の世界がレゴみたい！人がアリみたいに小さいわ！」と言っていたよ。
My parents were very impressed but said they felt a little sick because it was too high.
両親2人とも、とても印象的だと言っていたけど高すぎてちょっと怖かったみたいね。
On New Year’s Day we went to the beach to see the first sunrise.
お正月は初日の出を見に、海に行ったよ。
There were people dancing and waving flags, as we were waiting for the sun to rise.
In the UK we don’t really watch the first sunrise.
The New Year is not as special as Christmas in the UK.
ダンスしたり、旗を振ったりしている人たちがいて、僕たちも初日の出を待っていたんだ。
イギリスでは初日の出はあんまり見に行かないけどね。
お正月は、クリスマスほど重要視されていないんだ。
My dad said it was fun to experience how Japan celebrates the New Year.
He enjoyed walking to Yaizu Shrine.
He took so many photos!
お父さんは「日本のお正月の祝い方を経験できて楽しかった」と言っていたよ。
焼津神社まで歩いたのも楽しかったみたい。
いっぱい写真を撮ってた☆
My parents stayed in Japan for almost two weeks.
We had a great time together, and enjoyed visiting many local places too.
When they went home, they were sad to leave.
Even though they can’t speak Japanese they still like Japan.
They are excited to visit again
両親は2週間くらいこちらに居たんだけど、いろんなところに訪れてとても良い時を過ごせたよ。
家に帰るのは寂しくなっちゃったみたいね。
日本語は話せないけど、日本のことが大好きだって。
また来たいって言ってたよ♪
